How To Add Youtube Videos to Your Website Using Your Phone

If you are anything like me—you have replaced your laptop and iPad or tablet with your smartphone. I am fascinated by the performance of smartphones these days. In my own pursuit to create more content, I have learned that I am not putting out as much because I was thinking that would mean:

A.) I would have to seclude myself from others, and/or

B.) I would need to confine myself to my home and to a desk and/or table.

That’s no fun! Here is where my smartphone comes in. Specially, my iPhone XR. Although, in the video tutorial below I am using an iPhone, note that this information can be applied to android phones as well.

Video Tutorial

Step By Step Instructions

Step 1: Open or download the Google Chrome App.

Step 2: Go to Youtube. Type in “YouTube” dot com in the address bar.

Step 3: Select the 3 dots at the bottom of your screen, towards the right. Scroll to “Request Desktop Site”

Step 4: In desktop view, select a video you want to post on your website (or WordPress blog.)

Step 5: To the right, underneath the video, select the “share” option.

Step 6: Next, click the “< >” embed option.

Step 7: Copy entire link.

Step 8: Go to website or web host. For me, I am using WordPress and starting a new blog post.

Step 9: Paste embed link into body paragraph of the blog (or wherever you would like this video posted.) Note: In some cases the link will be shortened once you paste it. Do not be alarmed. It does it on its own. Continue to next step.

Step 10: Preview or publish your work. Be sure to press play to ensure that the video is posted.

I hope you find this information useful. These steps can be used from a computer or laptop as well.
